Okay, so I know that summer is basically over and it’s starting to get a bit nippy in the evenings, but I have a trip to Mexico planned in October! Yay! Sans kids. Double Yay! This means I will be keeping some of my summer staples within reach to take on that trip. I haven’t been out of the country since I was a little girl! This didn’t even hit me until I had to renew my passport, which I’ve never actually used. It’s a sad situation and I feel terribly uncultured (insert frown emoji here). I vowed to Pablo that I would be visiting a new country every year from now on. So yea, there goes the kid’s college fund. Joking! There’s no college fund.
A couple notes on this outfit. These boyfriend style jeans are from Target and I wear them a few times a week if possible. I love their relaxed baggy fit and distressed style. They are perfect for running errands with kiddos or you can dress them up with heels like I did here! The kimono is a clothing piece that I will be buying more of since it’s great for layering and makes a simple jeans and tee outfit so much more interesting. Lastly, I was informed by my dear friend and stylist Adriana Castanon that my espadrille shoes are a new, more grown up version of the converse in that it’s casual, versatile and cute! I’m going to second that because I wear them every chance I get.

I’m a huge fan of breezy pants in the summer! As much as I love a cute dress, I’m more of pants kinda girl. These bright printed pants from H&M give me a tropical vibe, and I’m down to take that vibe with me anywhere! They sit a little high on the waist, so it’s easy to wear them with a cropped top with just a little bit of skin peaking through.
Also snagged these black wedge heels at Nordstrom Rack in Springfield Town Center, and they are my current go to black heels. Comfort is key for me, so I was happy when I walked around DC with them and didn’t regret it later.
I’m working with my stylist friend Adriana Castanon to put new looks together for you! If you’ve been reading my blogs for awhile, you know that we worked on a blog together before called DMV’s Got Style. She’s got such an eye for style! For example, she paired the silver clutch with this outfit, and it really brought the whole look together and made it pop. You’ll be seeing more of her styling work here and some projects together soon :).
Hey there! With Valentine’s Day coming up, I wanted to share a cute outfit that could be worn for a date night. So I’ll be honest, my husband and I are not the the biggest Valentine’s Day fans. There’s a bit too much pressure on this holiday to do or give something extravagant. These days a simple dinner out and a movie is much appreciated, and certainly feels like a luxury.
My hair is naturally wavy/curly, and when I’m not in the mood to “do” my hair, I add a bit of Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray after it air dries to tame my frizz and get a presentable bedhead look. I’m always on the hunt for great curly hair products so please share if you have one! Wishing you a great week <3.
Not really though. That’s just what my shirt says. I love the idea of mixing casual and dressy. Like this casual screen tee that I paired with an a-line skirt, glitzy necklace and cage heels. It was a fun look for our recent girls night out to Bull Run Winery for some delicious wine tasting.
I’d never been wine tasting before, but now I can’t wait to go back. Bull Run Winery in Centreville is so close, and so beautiful. I’m thinking this would be a perfect date night with the hubs. Have you ever been to a winery before?
